Young Disabled Adults
For disabled adults over 18, we offer a wealth of support through our Breakaway and Buddies groups; please visit our youth groups page for more information.
Encouraging young adults to be more independent and grow as people in their own right is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work here. In fact, many young children we support through the Chiltern Centre become volunteers in adulthood, supporting and acting as positive role models to our youngsters.
Through our adult groups, we help young people prepare for adult life, assist them with the transition to residential college, work or volunteering – and provide information about other local groups which can help them in their future life.
Having recently increased the number of bedrooms available at the Centre, we hope to offer overnight care for those adults we support – once our registration for 18-25 year olds is accepted.
By working in partnership with Pathways at Henley College, Bishopswood School and Chiltern Edge School – and any other educational organisation connected with young adults in our care – we offer opportunities to gain invaluable life skills.
