Support and Signposting
At Chiltern Centre, we don’t just offer practical support when caring for a disabled child, our approach is an holistic one – encompassing a diverse range of family support.
Whether helping families manage transitions between settings or creating positive relationships between families and professionals when managing sensitive issues, we help you find a way through every journey.
A key aspect of our work here is to put parents in touch with other professional services who support children with disabilities. Over the years, we’ve built up close links with organisations such as the Children’s Community Nursing Team, Rainbow Children’s Centre, Wallingford Toy Library for Children with Special Needs and the local Mencap Group, to name but a few.
If we know of any services to benefit a family, we happily share details so parents have the choice to decide whether to make use of them or not. This enables families to develop day-to-day coping strategies and access diverse support when it’s needed most.
