Amelia and I had a lovely time at the fundraising event at Phyllis Court today.
We enjoyed shopping beforehand, in the lovely venue overlooking the river. Then we had a wonderful lunch in the ballroom. We particularly enjoyed the speeches by Liz and then Su. We think it’s always good for people to hear about Chiltern Centre from the perspective of a parent/family who have used the service -you can then get a feel for what the Centre means to families. It can help parents spend time with their other children whilst their disabled child is being well looked after and having fun. It can provide somewhere safe for the disabled child to play and make friends. For Su, that close relationship with the Centre was invaluable when she needed to take care of her own health – she knew that the Centre knew her daughter well and could provide her a home-from-home for that period, enabling her to recover.
Of course we liked watching the video about Chiltern Centre again, which Amelia stars in. 😊
This shows everyone what a privilege it is to be involved in these young people’s lives and what a great time they have with us!
Thank you to the Chiltern Centre fundraisers and the Lasies Lunch Committee. It was great that pupils of Moulsford School were there to help with meeting and greeting and running the silent auction. It was really well organised, well attended and hopefully raised lots of money for the Chiltern Centre!
