Photo taken yesterday – The Henley Hawks have launched a Challenge Cycle Ride to mark the development of the club in Rugby World cup year. They are supporting, Sue Ryder and Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children.
The format for the bike ride is as follows:
5 days beginning in Edinburgh and ending in Henley
Day one: Murrayfield to Morpeth (101 miles)
Day Two: Morpeth to Harrogate (110 miles)
Day Three: Harrogate to Burton on Trent (102 miles)
Day Four: Burton on Trent to Abingdon (103 miles)
Day Five Abingdon to Henley via Twickenham (94 miles)
As you can see this will be a real test of endurance and one which we hope will attract a number of riders. We intend to recruit 20 riders for the first 4 days and the last day will be open to a further 30. This should attract a number of locals, given that it will be a Saturday, the weather should be ok and it will be the end of the summer holidays. The ride will finish at the club on Saturday 29th August 2015.
Anyone interested in riding individually or entering a team of 5 get in touch please – call Emma Lerche-Thomsen via Chiltern Centre .
Registration fee will apply and a minimum level of sponsorship .
